Job Description

Job Title: Slitter
Pay: $19+
Hours: 1st Shift (7am to 4pm, Monday - Friday)
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a Slitter for our client, a metal processing company located in Solon, OH. The Slitter will set up and operate the machines to produce quality products. The Slitter will demonstrate basic mechanical knowledge. 

As a Slitter, you will be responsible for:
  • Package, handle, and protect finished materials produced on machines.
  • Assist other operators in the setup of machinery
  • Inspect, calibrate, and check operator setup of machinery
  • Operate and run the machine that slits products to customer specifications and dimensions according to work orders. (Set up would be optimal but not required).
  • Load materials onto the machine and adjust the machine to match the material loaded
  • Observe machine operations, control boards, and gauges to detect any defective material or any machine malfunctions.
  • Responsible for detailed completion of work orders and production reports.
  • The operator must always be mentally alert on the machine.
  • The operator who is not alert runs a great risk of getting injured or injuring another employee. Training will include other duties on the production floor to help understand all positions and processes.
  • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by management.

The ideal candidate for this role will have: 
  • High school diploma/GED minimum
  • Forklift Certification is a plus
  • Basic computer skills are a plus
  • Must be able to read a tape measure
