Role Overview
Join a leading manufacturer specializing in access control, factory automation, and industrial sensors as an Electronics Technician in Cleveland, OH. In this role, you will play a vital role in testing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting circuit boards to ensure they meet high-quality design specifications. You will work directly with the Plant Manager to support manufacturing operations, ensuring smooth and efficient production.
Note: The core focus of this position is hands-on product testing and component-level diagnostic troubleshooting (rather than board assembly or soldering).
What You'll Do
-
Follow written electronic test procedures to perform functional product testing and verify circuit board functionality to design specifications.
-
Utilize diagnostic test equipment—specifically Multimeters and Oscilloscopes—to test, inspect, and evaluate electronic assemblies.
-
Read and interpret circuit schematics, accurately identifying electronic components and tracing signals to troubleshoot failing circuit boards down to the component level.
-
Perform visual quality inspections of Surface Mount (SMT) and Plated Through-Hole (PTH) circuit boards using lenses and microscopes.
-
Assist the Plant Manager with technical support and production needs on the manufacturing floor.
-
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
What You'll Bring
-
Product Testing Experience: Proven background in electronic product testing and knowledge of functional testing procedures in a manufacturing environment.
-
Test Equipment Proficiency: Practical, hands-on experience using diagnostic tools, including Multimeters and Oscilloscopes.
-
Schematic Reading & Component Identification: Strong ability to read and interpret electronic circuit schematics, confidently identify individual components, and trace circuit flow to isolate root causes of failures.
-
Education: An Associate Degree in Electronics Technology or a related field is strongly preferred.
-
Industry Standards: Familiarity with the IPC-A610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies standard or ability to reference technical materials.
-
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, relationship management, and communication skills (verbal and written).
-
(Note: While basic familiarity with SMT/PTH components is necessary, high-level soldering is not a primary requirement for this position.)
Why Join Us in Cleveland?
-
Competitive pay rate of up to $27 per hour based on experience.
-
Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and a 401(k) with employer match.
-
Robust paid time off (PTO), holidays, and benefits offered after hire.
-
A dynamic team committed to innovation and quality.
