Job Title: Metal Handler / Furnace Support Operator
Pay: $21 - $25/hr
Hours: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM (Swing Shift)

As a Metal Handler / Furnace Support Operator, you'll play a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of metal processing and furnace functions. You'll work closely with a dedicated team to ensure materials are handled safely and efficiently, contributing to the production of high-quality metal components.

What You'll Do
As a Metal Handler / Furnace Support Operator, you will be responsible for:
  • Operating forklift or tow motor to move metal materials, supplies, and finished products within the warehouse and production areas.
  • Loading furnaces, pots, or crucibles with metal and raw materials per production schedules.
  • Assisting with furnace operations, including monitoring temperatures and helping with adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Performing basic cleaning and maintenance of furnace equipment to support continuous operations.
  • Removing scrap, slag, and excess materials with safety and care to maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory counts and completing production paperwork to support traceability.
  • Following all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and plant procedures at all times.
  • Supporting production startups and shutdowns, assisting with process adjustments as needed.
  • Performing other warehouse or production duties as assigned to keep operations running smoothly.

What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Previous forklift or tow motor experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of die casting, foundry, furnace, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
  • Ability to work in hot temperatures and fast-paced conditions with a focus on safety.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Physical ability to lift, stand, bend, and work on your feet throughout the shift.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or flexible schedules when needed.
  • Collaborative attitude with a focus on teamwork and safety.
