Job Title: Welder Fitter
Pay: $23.00 per hour
Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 3:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Start Date: 11/17/2025

Are you looking for a hands-on role in a thriving manufacturing environment? Join a premier metal fabricator as a Welder Fitter in Struthers, OH, and make an impact every day. As a Welder Fitter, you'll play a crucial role in assembling various metal components, primarily using the MIG welding process.
What You’ll Do:
As a Welder Fitter, you will be responsible for:
  • Fitting and assembling structural frameworks and housings from materials and welding equipment while adhering to blueprint specifications.
  • Examining blueprints and material lists to obtain parts specifications accurately.
  • Laying out parts dimensions on the worktable using a square, chalk line, and soapstone.
  • Tack-welding metal to create outlines for assembly jigs.
  • Positioning parts in jigs and using files, chisels, and grinders to ensure proper fit.
  • Heating parts with an acetylene torch to bend them as needed.
  • Tack-welding fitted parts together and periodically comparing assembly dimensions to blueprint specifications with squares, rules, and calipers.
  • Optionally annealing parts with an acetylene torch to relieve welding stresses and fastening parts together using acetylene torch and brazing rod.

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant welding experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow precise specifications.
  • Physical stamina and agility to perform various welding tasks effectively.
