Job Description

Welder Fitter — $21–$26/hr — 1st or 2nd Shift
Location: Struthers, OH, in the Youngstown area
Pay: $21–$26 per hour, based on experience and skill
Schedule:

  • 1st shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
  • 2nd shift: 3:30 PM–11:00 PM

Start date: ASAP
 

A leading metal fabrication company in Struthers, OH, is hiring Welder Fitters for immediate openings on 1st and 2nd shift. Entry-level MIG Welders, TIG Welders, and experienced Welder Fitters are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Fit and assemble structural frameworks, housings, and metal components from blueprints

  • Read blueprints, material lists, and specifications

  • Lay out parts using squares, chalk lines, and soapstone

  • Tack-weld components and build assembly outlines and jigs

  • Position, shape, and fit parts using files, chisels, and grinders

  • Heat, bend, and shape materials with acetylene torches

  • Verify assemblies using squares, rules, and calipers

  • Follow all safety and quality procedures

  • Complete annealing, brazing, and other finishing tasks as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • One year of welding or fitting experience preferred

  • Welding technical education is a plus

  • Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed specifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

  • Ability to perform hands-on work in a manufacturing environment

  • MIG welding experience with steel plate, pipe, or tube is a plus

  • Open-root TIG welding experience is a plus

  • Previous metal-fitting experience is preferred
